My Opinion
Platinum Goddess is not really my type, but I played it extensively to compile this report for anyone interested. Here’s what I think about its design, features, and overall feel.
The Theme
Platinum Goddess covers the basics in interface, but is a few corners behind more modern video slots. But this is no big deal, as the main gist of the game is simplicity and playing for fun, in the likes of Cleopatra and 50 Lions.
Best Feature: The Free Game
I found the free game so profitable that it made the Bonus Buy worth it. This is in no small part down to the asking price (25x), which is far below the average price of 50x and 100x for this feature. For example, the free spins in Le Viking cost 100x to trigger.
The actual free spins round uses stacked symbols. But compared to Book of Dead, where the symbol expands to behave like stacked, here each one lands separately. At the beginning of the FS round, I had to click on one of the roses to reveal the symbol to be stacked. Regardless, the money starts falling from the start each time. For example, I won $100+ five times out of seven, which justified the $50 trigger ($2 bet).
Alternatives to Platinum Goddess
Golden Goddess by IGT, a popular slot game at online casinos, is basically the same as Platinum Goddess. It offers the same RTP, volatility, and symbols. The only difference is that there is no Bonus Buy.
If you feel like a free spins round alone is a bit frugal, you can play the Prissy Princess online slot, which offers a bit more bonus depth, such as bonus round, and free spins.
