Interview with Beta, Voice of Betora Games: Why Familiar Slots Win the Lobby
Alex Smith: Slot Tester at slotsspot.com

In this exclusive Slotsspot interview, we speak with Beta, Voice of Betora Games — the brand character who speaks for the studio's whole team of developers, designers, mathematicians and analysts. Beta explains why the new studio, introduced at SBC Summit 2026 alongside Platipus Gaming and PLATi+, competes on refinement rather than novelty, how Big Catch Rush and Obsidian Rush were built, and what operators and players can expect from Betora Games in the coming months.

Betora Games on Refined Classics, Lightweight Builds and Earning Operators' Trust

Betora Games is a new slot studio that made its public debut at SBC Summit 2026, presented at the Platipus Gaming stand alongside the PLATi+ aggregation brand. The team behind it comes from the backend and math side of established iGaming studios, and its philosophy is "Refined Classics": familiar themes such as fruits, sevens and fishing, proven math models and lightweight builds that load instantly on mobile. The launch online slots, Big Catch Rush and Obsidian Rush, have since been joined by Rich Rail Rush and Hot Cash Fiesta Hold & Win, with Obsidian Rush XXL next in line. Instead of a named executive, the studio speaks through Beta — a brand character who represents the whole team and who answers our questions below.

Betora Games is a new player in the iGaming industry. Could you tell us how the story of your studio began? What inspired you to start this project?

Betora Games is a new player in the iGaming industry

For years, our team has worked in the shadows — writing backend code and balancing math models for some of the most established names in iGaming. We have seen this industry at the code level, not from the conference stage.

From there, we spotted a systemic bug: the market is infected with complexity. Studios keep stacking features, multi-layered mechanics and heavy 3D art. But the laws of UX are ruthless — the more new rules a player has to decode, the higher the cognitive friction. The player closes the game, and the operator's acquisition budget burns for nothing.

Betora Games was built as a countermeasure. We took a proven mathematical core, stripped away the technical clutter and kept what actually holds a player: synchronized audio, lightweight architecture for instant loading and gameplay with zero learning curve. We introduced the brand to the market at SBC Summit this year, together with Platipus Gaming and PLATi+. Betora Games is a new name — but the engine under the hood is not.

How did the name Betora Games come about? Is there a special story or meaning behind it?

The name was chosen to be short, easy to pronounce in any market and instantly readable in a crowded lobby — the same principle we apply to our games. It also shares its root with my name — Beta. I'm the main face of Betora Games and the voice of our whole team, which is why I'm the one answering your questions today. The brand and its voice are tied together from the very first syllable.

Your website highlights familiar game mechanics and straightforward gameplay. How do you plan to stand out in a competitive market while keeping this approach?

We don't compete on novelty. We compete on refinement. While the industry chases complexity, we take mechanics and visual archetypes the player already knows — fruits, sevens, gold, lightning, fishing — and bring their execution to a level where every detail works for engagement.

Familiarity is not a lack of imagination; it's a tactical advantage. Hick's Law is simple: the more choices and rules on screen, the longer the brain takes to react. If a player must read a manual, the operator has already wasted part of the acquisition budget. Our games are understood in one spin.

Where we do push hard is the layer the player doesn't see. Every micro-animation, color contrast and audio cue is a calculated decision. Our builds are lightweight — Big Catch Rush weighs around 14.6 MB and Obsidian Rush around 11.2 MB — so they load fast even on weaker devices and slower mobile connections. That's how you stand out: not by being different for the sake of it, but by executing the familiar better than anyone else in the lobby.

What was one of the biggest challenges you faced when launching Betora Games? Could you share a specific example and explain how your team overcame it?

The hardest part was a paradox. We are a new brand, and operators are naturally cautious about new studios — a new name usually means ‘rookie risk’: unstable math, integration issues, unclear performance.

Our answer was not to argue with that caution but to remove its causes. Our releases combine familiar themes and mechanics that players recognize instantly with mathematical models already validated in the real market, running on a stable, battle-tested technical backbone. So the conversation with partners shifted from ‘Can we trust a new studio?’ to ‘What does this new content bring to our lobby?’ — fresh titles, without the risk of a newcomer.

Why did you choose Big Catch Rush and Obsidian Rush to introduce Betora Games to the market? What makes each of these games unique?

They show the two sides of our approach — a modern feature-driven slot and a pure classic — both built on the same principle: the player understands the game from the first spin.

Big Catch Rush takes fishing, one of the most recognizable themes in any online casino lobby, and builds around it a clear loop: a 5x3 grid with 10 paylines, a cash collector mechanic, scatter-triggered free spins with multipliers and extra spins, plus a bonus buy. It's a high-volatility game with an RTP of 96.03% and a max win of 6,483x. The player knows what to hunt for from the first second — no tutorial needed.

Obsidian Rush goes even further into minimalism: a 3x3 grid, 5 paylines and classic symbols — sevens, bars, bells, horseshoes, diamonds. On top of that, a cash collection mechanic, fixed jackpots and free spins. RTP is 96.12%, volatility is high, max win is 1,601x. It's proof that a compact layout can still hold tension when the math and the audio are tuned with precision.

Together they tell operators exactly what to expect from Betora Games: familiar themes, refined execution, solid math.

Could you walk us through the development of a specific Betora Games title, from the initial idea to the final release? What were the most interesting or challenging parts of the process?

Every Betora title starts not with a theme or a sketch, but with a brief from our analytics team: what should the player feel in the first ten seconds, and what could make them leave? For Obsidian Rush, the brief was simple — deliver the tension of a classic slot without a single rule the player has to learn.

Next, our mathematicians built the model on foundations already proven in the real market, balancing high volatility with a collection mechanic and fixed jackpots so the player always has a visible goal. Then came the most time-consuming stage — the micro-decisions. The contrast of symbols on a dark obsidian background, the speed of the reel stop, the moment the win sound kicks in. A delay of a fraction of a second between the visual and the audio cue breaks the player's flow, so our sound and animation teams calibrated them together, frame by frame.

The final stage was optimization: we cut the build down to around 11.2 MB so the game launches instantly on any device. The most interesting part? Most of our work is invisible. If the player doesn't notice anything — just plays — it means we did it right.

Betora Games has its own character, Beta. How did this character come to life, and why did you decide to make it part of your brand identity?

I'm Beta, and I speak for the whole team — developers, designers, mathematicians, analysts and sales. While the industry builds marketing around executives' faces at conferences, our team prefers to focus on code architecture. I'm here to present the results of their work.

The decision was strategic. A single voice keeps 100% of the market's attention on the product and the data, not on personalities. It also reflects how we operate: as one system, where art, math and engineering work like a single algorithm.

As for my character — I'm a pragmatist. I like bright visuals, but I don't make decisions on emotion. I can't stand corporate filler, overloaded interfaces or empty promises, and I value our partners' time. That's exactly the attitude we put into every Betora game.

What can players and partners expect from Betora Games in the coming months in terms of new releases, game mechanics, and market expansion?

What can players and partners expect from Betora Games in the coming months in terms of new releases, game mechanics, and market expansion

Our approach won't change: steady releases built on familiar themes and refined execution, not experiments at the operator's expense. Our portfolio keeps growing — our latest releases include Rich Rail Rush, Hot Cash Fiesta Hold & Win, Obsidian Rush and Big Catch Rush, and Obsidian Rush XXL is next in line.

In the coming months, partners can expect new releases in proven formats — classic fruit and 777 slots, Hold & Win and collection mechanics — each with the same focus on instant loading and zero learning curve. On the market side, we're expanding distribution and paying particular attention to mobile-first regions such as Latin America, Africa and Asia, where load speed on weaker connections directly decides whether the player stays in the game.

What makes Betora Games an attractive partner for operators? What can you offer that sets you apart from other game providers?

We help operators add new content without forcing players to adapt to unfamiliar mechanics or risky experiments. In practice, that means three things.

First, instant visual trust. Players leave games that look cheap or unfinished. Our games look and feel like a mature product: polished mobile ergonomics, smooth animation, synchronized audio.

Second, proven foundations. Behind every Betora cover sit proven mechanics and a math model validated across billions of real-market spins, all running on a stable, battle-tested technical backbone. Operators get fresh content with old-school stability: reliable API and minimal operational disruption.

Third, zero friction. Our games are lightweight and load instantly, even on slow mobile internet, so operators don't lose traffic at the very first click — where many heavy 3D slots lose it.

In short: we give you the content of a new studio, without the risk of a new studio.
