We spoke with Wesley Yang, COO for U.S. Markets, TaDa Gaming, to discuss the key features of the new lineup, audience behavior, the technological underpinnings and how TriLuck™ fits into the company’s strategy to scale in the U.S.A.

TaDa Gaming’s TriLuck™ series is a fresh take on the sweepstake format, focusing on easy entry, high engagement and gamified user experience.

What inspired the creation of the TriLuck™ series?

Were there specific market trends or shifts in player behavior that prompted your team to explore this new direction?

TriLuck™ – which currently comprises 3 Coin Treasures, 3 Coin Treasures 2 and 3 Pot Buffalo – was the result of our long-term strategy to “lower entry barriers and enhance player engagement”. As the sweepstakes model became more popular, we noticed increasing demand from the market for games that are “quick to play, easy to understand and offer clear rewards”. With this in mind, we aimed to provide a more intuitive and exciting experience through TriLuck™, while also introducing an innovative breakthrough in the traditional sweepstake game structure.

What inspired the creation of the TriLuck™ series?

The “Tri” in TriLuck™ represents the three distinct gameplay features within the games, combined with the element of “luck” that is revered by slot machine players. This interplay creates a dynamic where players will experience the true essence of TriLuck™. In the process, we identified a key opportunity for product transformation and solidified the direction for TriLuck™’s future development.

What kind of user journey did you design TriLuck™ around?

How deeply did you tailor the gameplay mechanics to the habits of sweepstake players, particularly in the U.S. market?

We simplified the entire gameplay experience into three key phases: “Quick Onboarding,” “Jackpot Stacking,” and “Sustained Excitement”.

This means that players can quickly grasp the game rules and begin to build the rhythm of jackpot stacking through the featured games. More importantly, the design is crafted to sustain player engagement and create anticipation. This approach enables familiarity for players and boosts retention.

Additionally, we gathered extensive player behavior data from multiple U.S. sweepstake platforms including insights into the most-played game types, the direction of new releases from major online suppliers and the game preferences of physical casino players. These valuable insights allowed us to fine-tune the specifications and UI design of the TriLuck™ series, ensuring the games align seamlessly with U.S. gameplay habits and entertainment preferences.

TriLuck™ emphasizes a “three-features” gameplay cycle. Why that model?

Was it driven by behavioral insights or was it more of a creative game design choice?

We chose the “three-features” gameplay cycle model to strike a balance between easy game onboarding and sustained player engagement. This model delivers immersive, dynamic and varied gaming experiences, ensuring impressive engagement and retention.

TriLuck emphasizes a “three-features” gameplay cycle

Driving the gameplay, the three core features use innovative game elements such as expanding the game board, additional free spins and amplified winning multipliers. These features deliver extended rounds played through challenges and rewards but with simple and easy to pick up rules.

We implemented this model based on the player behavior insights we’ve accumulated over time. By analyzing successful patterns from our own previous games, we were able to draw from these experiences to ensure long-term player engagement.

What KPIs do you use to measure the success of this series?

How does TriLuck™ perform compared to other TaDa Gaming titles in terms of retention, engagement, or average session time?

The success of the TriLuck™ series is measured through several key performance indicators (KPIs), including user retention, engagement and average session time. Retention is especially critical for us because player behavior in slot games typically involves short sessions and high churn rates. Engagement metrics help us gauge the depth of player involvement, while average session time provides insight into how long players remain engaged during each play session.

Since release, the TriLuck™ games have always delivered high retention rates and average session duration, making them one of our leading series across multiple markets. Specifically, in the U.S. market, retention rates have improved by 23% compared to other titles, with an overall player base growth of 10%, based on the latest quarterly data.

This success can be attributed to TriLuck™’s fast-paced and highly engaging “three-feature” gameplay, which appeals to a broad spectrum of players regardless of their play style. As a result, players tend to return frequently, significantly enhancing the games’ overall performance and competitive standing in the market.

What early insights have you gathered since launch?

Have you noticed any unexpected player behaviors or trends that could influence how the series evolves?

Almost immediately, we noticed that when players accumulate features and trigger special visual effects, they continue playing to activate the corresponding feature games. One feature is never enough so this “three-feature” design significantly enhances player engagement and session duration.

Conclusions since the launch of the TriLuck series

Based on these early insights, we optimized the reward distribution system to give bigger rewards upon entering the feature games. This adjustment increases player anticipation and motivation, encouraging longer play sessions and deeper engagement. We will use these findings to guide further development of the series to continuously improve the player experience and build long-term retention.

By leveraging this modular design approach, we can scale our overall game ecosystem while maintaining a consistent and familiar user experience. This also enables us to efficiently launch additional titles that embody the spirit of TriLuck™, further extending its unique appeal to a wider player base.
