Online Casino Czech Republic • Full Gambling Info

What is known about this fascinating place around the world? Most likely, your answer will be beer. Of course, on the one hand, this is indeed the case. However, the Czech Republic is known not only for its beer, but also for its unusual traditions and customs, including the Czech Republic delicious cuisine, cheap food and excellent service. Czechs always strive to ensure that everything is at the highest level. That is why casinos in Prague are distinguished by excellent service, loyal prices and a wide range of different games, from poker to classic roulette.

History of Gambling in Czech Republic

The money game has attracted people since ancient times. On the territory of the Czech Republic, this is proved by the finding of primitive dice, among other objects found in the Celtic tree near Stradonits. New time in the Czech Republic brought a variety of subject lottery, and in the XVIII century, the first cash lottery, organized by the state. A little bit later, there appeared an opinion that cash games cannot be eliminated, but the government can try to regulate and tax them. One of the forms of taxation in the Czech Republic is the obligatory deduction for charitable purposes, which may be some compensation for the fact that playing for money is not good for society.

For three hundred years, the organizers of such games have been trying to offer players various convenient mechanisms. The leading role was played by gaming models, the prototype of which appeared in the USA and, almost simultaneously, in Europe in 1870. America went the way of mechanical shuffling of cards and devices with symbols, while European manufacturers put on the player’s art to skillfully deal with the thrown coin. In the United States, metal prevailed in production, in Europe – wood. So the capitals of gambling for the USA was San Francisco and Chicago, for Europe – Leipzig, and for the Czech Republic – Semily. It was here in 1926 that the first Czech slot machine, which was made by carpenter Jozef Mach, was created and began to work. However, the Czech name for the device of this type has received the name of its competitor. Josef Vanek from Semil built a device in Podmoklitsy, which he named FORBES. After that, the slot machines in the Czech Republic were not called differently. The Vaneka factory had many branches throughout Czechoslovakia, thousands of slot models were operating in Czech bars.

The first gambling-driven entertainment establishments in the Czech Republic appeared during the Protectorate, and later – under socialism, which not only did not restrict gambling, but even made it compulsory at school in the 60s. Pupils who had not yet turned 18 under the pressure of teachers were obliged to buy a huge amount of lottery tickets, for example, Czechoslovak-Soviet Friendship, Mona, tickets of state and local lotteries. In 1967 – 1970, slot machines were also produced in Czechoslovakia, and, without any prohibition, were brought from other countries.

The continuation of the tradition of automata in the bars of the times of the first republic came only in 1990, when a new law came into force permitting the operation of automata by private entities. A year later, the production of automatic machines in the country resumed. For this, almost bankrupt military production factories were attracted, thanks to which workers again had hope for job. ZPA Čakovice stood at the origins of the revival of a new generation of Czech-made gaming models. Krijcos, Hramat and Income also played a big role.

Types of Online Casino in Czech Republic

More and more fans of excitement prefer to learn entertainment online. This is not surprising, because most of the modern needs for communication, pleasure, purchasing and even making money occur on the Internet. On this basis, the types of online-casino institutions appeared, which immediately provided evidence that they could be better and more efficient than real clubs. They are open for receiving rates 24/7, while beginners can play on the portals even for free without registering. Online-casino institutions are available to play in two modes using any gadgets connected to the global network, such as smartphones, tablets and laptops. They also include all types of casino games that can be imagined and even more.

The last point attracts the most attention, because, in the end, every client of a gambling-driven entertainment house comes to the casino to have fun and get maximum pleasure. And virtual portals can offer much more popular gambling-driven entertainment and tables than a real institution. Moreover, modern slot developers regularly release completely new and updated instances.

Depending on the selected gambling-driven entertainment house, the user will be offered a separate range of entertainment. Despite the differences, as a rule, automata are very similar and even identical, as they are purchased from the same developers. After getting acquainted with the slots of all brands, the club client will feel easier to choose, relying on the favorites.

In most varieties of casinos there are machines and tables, promising jackpots. These are progressive amounts of money that gradually grow and go to the most successful visitors. Of course, this fact quickly raises the rating of the models in the eyes of the establishment’s clients.

Among the wide range of machines, there are types of games in casinos that can boast of interactivity, that is, interaction with real people – croupiers. As a rule, these are video slots offering to play with real dealers, for example, roulette. In this case, there may be several users at the gaming table who make bets in the same way as in a real hall. The exceptions are that the player is actually at home, and the money goes to a virtual account. Virtual casino poker games are very popular this way in the Czech Republic.

Types of Casino Games for the Gamblers of Czech Republic

In Czech casinos, there is a wide selection of games. Of course, every visitor will be able to choose a game for themselves. In the range of games there are slot machines, many types of blackjack, all kinds of roulettes, raffles being played, and, of course, poker. In order to feel more confident when visiting such institutions, you can familiarize yourself with free game simulators on the Internet. You should know that in order to visit a casino, it is not necessary to take a large amount of money with you, making minimal bets, you can enjoy a wide variety of gambling-driven entertainment throughout the evening.

The Czech gaming industry is also known for the fact that poker tournaments are often held in venues. To participate in a tournament, you need to register in advance with the working staff of the casino itself or via the Internet. More tournaments are free, that is, you can take part in them at any time convenient for you, with no prior entries required. It should be noted that in the casino are allowed persons who have reached the age of eighteen years, and there is no dress code.

Since the beginning of 2017, the activity of online-casino institutions in the Czech Republic was legalized, a number of strict restrictions entered into force. Many large international operators have decided to cease operations in the Czech Republic. In particular, William Hill left the Czech Republic. Foreign operators faced difficulties in licensing in the Czech territory. As a result, local companies took the lead, for example, Fortuna Entertainment Group, Sazka, Tipsport, Chance and Synot Group.

To conduct business in the Czech Republic, online-casino institutions must have an interface in the state language of the Czech Republic. The most popular Czech betting sites are Tipsport.cz and iFortuna.cz (the first gambling-driven entertainment resource licensed in the Czech Republic). Sazka.cz – the most popular lottery service.

The most popular resources for playing poker are Pokerstars.cz, Pokerstrategy.com and Pokerarena.cz.

As in many other European countries, Novomatic products enjoy success in the Czech Republic. Such slots of the manufacturer as Super Hot, Book of Ra deluxe, Sizzling Hot and other developments can often be seen on the top lines of Czech online casino ratings. Another company whose games are popular in the Czech Republic is Playtech. Now the country has increased interest in the following developments of the manufacturer:

  • Rocky;
  • White King;
  • The Three Musketeers;
  • Age of The Gods;
  • Gladiator;
  • Top Trumps Celebs.

Endorphina is the most popular gambling-driven entertainment company in the Czech Republic. This manufacturer has been on the Czech Republic market since 2010. On the account of the Czech development team is over 40 games. The company has created such popular slot machines as Twerk, Jetsetter and Fairy tale. Under the Endorphina brand, complex software solutions and platforms for online-casino institutions are released. The manufacturer focuses on games based on HTML5, with high adaptability. Games of the company are reproduced without any problems both on stationary and portable devices.

Online Gambling Laws and Regulations in Czech Republic

The Czech Republic is one of the European countries where the majority of modern gambling-driven entertainment versions are completely legal. The activity of land gambling-driven entertainment establishments and sites is permitted on the territory of the Czech Republic. In total in the Czech Republic there are over a hundred casinos. According to statistics, for every 200 inhabitants there is one slot machine. The Czech Republic regions are among the largest centers of gambling-driven entertainment tourism in Europe.

At the moment, the provisions governing the Czech gambling-driven entertainment business are described in the Law on Gambling, which entered into force on January 1, 2017. In this regulation, online-casino institutions were added to the already existing types of gambling. Until January 2017, the law “On Lotteries and Other Gambling”, which was adopted in 1990, was in force in the country. Currently, the following types of gambling-driven entertainment are allowed in the Czech Republic:

  • lottery;
  • sports betting and horse racing, sweepstakes;
  • bingo;
  • poker and other card games;
  • gaming models and terminals;
  • casino games (roulette, table games, etc.)

Thus, the regulatory framework has replaced the rather outdated laws of the Czech Republic, established since the 1990s. Czech lawmakers sought to create a framework that would comply with EU directives on the provision of gambling-driven entertainment services, as well as to provide clearer information about what is legal in the Czech Republic and what is not. Among other things, the new regulatory regime allowed licensed provision of services to operators of online gambling-driven entertainment sites in the Czech Republic. Prior to that, international operators worked in the gray zone.

Researchers from the National Monitoring Center noted that the new laws are aimed at making boundaries between legal and non-legal provision of gaming services in the country clearer, as well as protection and assistance to people with problem behavior in gambling. Access to online gambling-driven entertainment services is fairly easy, so their influence on addicted clients and those already addicted to the entertainment is much stronger.

According to Czech law, not all categories of citizens have access to gambling-driven entertainment. Thus, restricted are persons who receive benefits or are officially declared bankrupt. Coordinates of citizens who are denied access to the casino, are included in a special register. However, they have the right to purchase lottery tickets and participate in small tournaments. Persons under the age of 18 are not allowed to gamble.

The Ministry of Finance is the main regulatory body that oversees gambling-driven entertainment activities. The process of obtaining a license includes several steps. First of all, you need to obtain a basic license from the Ministry of Finance. Then, for ground establishments, it is necessary to obtain permission for the intended use of the premises in the relevant municipal authority. The fight against illegal gambling-driven entertainment is handled by the organization Tax Cobra, created in collaboration with the Ministries of the Interior and Finance.

To obtain a license, the company must meet the following requirements:

  • be a legal entity registered in the Czech Republic or the EU;
  • have a transparent organization structure;
  • have an authorized capital of at least 2 000 000 EUR;
  • have sufficient human, organizational and financial potential for organizing gambling.

On average, the term of registration takes about 30 days. The fee for processing a basic license is 200 EUR, and for gambling-driven entertainment premises 150 EUR. Permits for online-casino institutions are issued under similar conditions with the exception of items related to premises.

Best Deposit Methods for the Gamblers of Czech Republic

Delving into the topic of paying deposits in online-casino institutions, it is worth noting that there are several options for this in the Czech Republic. Payment terminals today can be found everywhere. This method of payment is available to every customer, but, according to statistics, older people prefer paying through terminals.

Electronic money is one of the most sought-after and convenient payment methods used by many people, thanks to its undeniable advantage – ease of connection and operation. The use of an electronic wallet does not require financial investments, there are also various ways to replenish it or withdraw money.

Accepting payments online through bank transfers today is rare. This fact is explained by difficulties and time costs – registration of a bank account, trips to the office, queues, and so on. Therefore, despite the high reliability and security, such payment systems are almost not in demand in the Czech Republic.

Payments using plastic cards are deservedly popular in the Czech Republic. The use of credit and debit cards is preferred by most modern people. The indicator of total volume of payments of deposits with the help of plastic cards is steadily growing. But the binding of payment systems to the site in this case is somewhat more complicated than in the case of electronic money. It is also necessary to think about protection against all sorts of fraudulent schemes.

If you have an international payment card, you can pay directly with it or withdraw money from an ATM. There are ATMs not only in busy urban centers, but also in banks and large shopping centers of the Czech Republic. The vast majority of them accept all common types of international credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Plus, Maestro, Cirrus and others).

These cards can be paid in most shops, hotels and restaurants, as well as at petrol stations. If the premises are not marked with symbols of accepted credit cards, you need to ask about this possibility.

In the Czech Republic, local sites accept cards. An additional possibility is the reception through the interfaces of the bank (it is gradually becoming a thing of the past, previously it was the most popular method, but rather difficult, because not many banks allowed paying in this way). Optionally, you can also use PaySec (a local alternative to PayPal) or PayPal. Another specificity: the majority accepts payment upon receipt or by invoice. The Czechs are not used to hurry, and this suits many.

Accepted Currencies in Czech Republic

The current monetary unit in the Czech Republic is the koruna. It appeared in 1882 in the period when the Czech Republic was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Then, beginning in 1919, the koruna began to be actively used in Czechoslovakia, and after the division of this state into two countries (the Czech Republic and Slovakia) in 1993, independent monetary units were formed – the Czech and the Slovak. All coins of the Czech Republic differ from each other in size and shape and are made mainly of steel. On the coin of one koruna, we see the image of the crown, which at one time was a symbol of the strength and power of the monarch.

The first Czech banknote was issued in 1993, it consisted of a Czechoslovak banknote with stamps pasted on them. Only banknotes in denominations of 100, 500 and 1000 CZK were reprinted, the banknotes of smaller denominations were in circulation unchanged during the entire transition period. The old ones were in circulation until the end of August, the new ones until the end of July.

The new series of banknotes denominating 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2000 and 5000 korunas were presented later in 1993 and in 1994, and all of them were in circulation until 2006 – except for the first versions of banknotes of denomination of 1000 and 5000 CZK, while the protective features of these banknotes have been replaced by new ones. (While 2000 CZK are still used in two versions, with and without new security features).

Since the summer of 2011, the 50-koruna note has ceased to have billing power, it has been completely replaced with a coin with the same dignity. The government had warned all citizens and guests of the country in advance that it would be impossible to pay in a banknote with a dignity of 50 korunas. This was long preceded by the exchange of banknotes for modern coins, the exchange was made by CCB – the Czech Central Bank.

The koruna became fully convertible since 1995 and became a freely fluctuating currency in 1999. The Czech Republic had planned to switch to the euro in 2012, but the government suspended the plan in 2007. Then, the chairman of the Czech National Bank said that the Czech Republic may switch to the euro in 2019.

As the official means of payment in the Czech Republic, the Czech koruna is the best and often the only currency accepted for payment within the country. Despite the fact that the Czech Republic is part of the European Union, the euro does not have a wide circulation here, but nevertheless many online-casino institutions, especially international ones, actively use the currency.

Predictions About the Future of Online Gambling in Czech Republic

Recently, in the Czech Republic, the government has decided to actively reform the order and conditions of gambling-driven entertainment in the Czech Republic. This is primarily reflected in the subjects who can play different types of gambling. So, over time, it is planned to ban gambling-driven entertainment for people who are jobless. This is primarily due to the prevention of loss of funds from unprotected mounds of the population. In connection with this, it is planned to keep official registration of players so that unemployed people could not give themselves the risk of playing gambling. Other representatives of the authorities say that such registration violates the human right to privacy.

Nevertheless, the loyal attitude of the Czech authorities to the gambling-driven entertainment industry allows us to safely predict the dynamic development of this sphere in the country. Despite the tightening of control over gaming after the adoption of the law of 2017, the decline in the popularity of this format of entertainment is not observed. So local operators began to have a clear priority. Thanks to this, the authorities manage to maintain control over taxation.

In the short term, the likelihood of banning certain gambling-driven entertainment in the Czech Republic is not in question. This is a profitable business segment, which significantly replenishes the state budget. In the future, an increase in the number of online-casino institutions run by local operators is expected, since the licensing procedure is relatively simple. This is proved by the example of more and more Czech gambling-driven entertainment sites.

Czech Republic is a country in which comfortable and safe conditions are created for gaming fans. Restrictions apply only to those categories of citizens who are objectively undesirable to get involved in gambling-related activities. The authorities support gambling-driven entertainment operators, which makes this business area promising and profitable.
